Conditions CBD May Help
Broad Spectrum CBD is not psychoactive and is usually taken in an attempt to alleviate certain health problems. These are some conditions which CBD is most searched for:
- Mood issues
- Sleep issues
- Discomfort with mobility
However, at this time CBD has not been FDA approved for any of the above conditions and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
If you’re taking CBD for other conditions, it may help support the desired outcome, but its effects may be less apparent. Consider this, when determining dosage.
What Affects Your Ideal CBD Dosage
One of the most significant factors affecting your ideal CBD dose is your body weight. If you don’t weigh very much, you will likely require a significantly smaller dose than someone who weighs more.
For example, someone who weighs 125 lbs will typically require around 30 percent less CBD per dose than someone who weighs 200 lbs. This varies from condition to condition and will be discussed in more detail later.
The concentration of CBD in the product you’re using must also be considered. If you’re using our CBD gummies, which contain 10 mg of CBD each, you’ll need fewer to feel the CBD gummies’ effects than if you were using 5 mg gummies.
For this reason, we’ll be discussing dosage in terms of mg, rather than a set number of gummies or drops of phytocannabinoid hemp oil.
The method you use to take CBD will also affect the dose. Although Vaping is frowned upon by many, it delivers CBD into your bloodstream the fastest, followed by sublingual and oral ingestion.
Avoiding Too Much CBD: Ideal Starting Doses
Discussing dosages with your doctor is the ideal first step to take. However, if despite approving CBD as safe, they do not offer a dosage recommendation, you will need to experiment. Take the following recommendations as a rough guide, and decrease or increase the dose by 5 mg as required, until you find the correct dose for you. We always recommend you start slow and increase your dosage.
If symptoms of your condition are mild, you will likely only need a small dose. However this will fluctuate based upon and according to body weight.
- If you weigh less than 130 lbs, take11 mg daily
- If you weigh between 130 and 230 lbs, take 18 mg daily.
- If you weigh more than 230 lbs, take 23 mg daily.
If your symptoms are stronger, but still not severe, increase the dose.
- If you weigh less than 130 lbs, take 12-14 mg daily.
- If you weigh between 130 and 230 lbs, take 19-23 mg daily.
- If you weigh more than 230 lbs, take 24-30 mg daily.
If symptoms are overwhelmingly severe, you should take a larger dose of CBD.
- If you weigh less than 130 lbs, take 15-17 mg daily.
- If you weigh between 130-230 lbs, take 24-27 mg daily.
- If you weigh more than 230 lbs, take 31-45 mg daily.
How to Determine Oral Dosage
When using our gummies, determining the dose you’re taking is easy. There are a total of 20 gummies to a jar, with a combined CBD dose of 200 mg. This means each gummy contains 10 mg of CBD.
However, when using oil or drops, it is less obvious. It is important to note that the number on the Tincture bottle is the total amount of CBD in the bottle.
Let’s say that you’re using our 30 ml bottle of 500 mg CBD Orange Flavor Tincture. There are 30 one (1) ml servings in each 30 ml bottle, which means each dropper full will contain around 16 mg of CBD.
Now that you can calculate how many mg’s are in a serving dose, you will be able to work out how many drops to use. In this case half a dropper full is 8 mg and a full dropper full is 16 mg. In fact, our droppers are marked ¼, ½, ¾ and full serving making it easy to visually calculate your dose now that you know the math.
