  CURIOUS ABOUT CBD?

  CBD is cannabidiol.  It is one of more than 400 naturally occurring chemical components that are found within the Cannabis sativa (hemp) plant.  It is classified as a “cannabinoid,” which is a natural chemical produced by both the body and by plants and that interacts with our bodies’ endocannabinoid (EC) system.

  Endocannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2, are found throughout every human body.  They are in our brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.  Additionally, endocannabinoids are found at the intersection of the body’s various systems, which allow for communication and coordination between different cell types.

  Endocannabinoids are the cannabinoids that our bodies produce internally. Phytocannabinoids are the cannabinoids concentrated in the oil resin of Cannabis sativa leaves and flower buds.  Endo refers to body.  Phyto refers to plant. The most commonly known phytocannabinoids are delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).
